with deep experience driving exponential growth for mortgage, wealth management, and fintech businesses. From refereeing hockey to teaching university classrooms to breaking business records, I’ve always been a risk-taker who purposefully pushes myself to try new things.

My Background

As a lifelong ice hockey enthusiast, I learned how to be adaptable yet resilient early on. At 21, I started a career in field marketing and got a taste of entrepreneurial life. Before I dove into the world of serial entrepreneurship, I worked as a major junior on-ice Official, refereeing some of the NHL’s biggest stars as they came up the ranks.

Falling short of joining the NHL as a professional referee was a crushing blow. It was an early moment in what would become a pattern throughout my life: highs, lows, and everything in between that came with a life of optimizing for growth and chasing dreams.

Becoming an Exponential Entrepreneur

I went on to build and scale businesses in the mortgage and fintech sectors. I grew my parents’ mortgage business, Champion Mortgage, by 40X, which eventually joined forces with Axiom Mortgage Solutions which was re-branded nationally to Indi Mortgage - The Independent Mortgage Company in 2024. I also co-founded Finmo, a fintech company that disrupted the mortgage process in Canada.

Getting Finmo off the ground was the most challenging, fulfilling experience of my entrepreneurial career. Some days were spent generating profound product innovations; others days were spent hanging on for our life as a company, one time being 22 minutes away from bankruptcy. I loved every minute of it. I helped lead the company to a successful acquisition by Lendesk in 2020.

I have also been humbled to be invited back to the University of Guelph as a guest lecturer, something I love doing.

Today

I love sharing my experience and journey through speaking, with the goal, to help others learn from my triumphs and my failures.

I am heavily involved in the Canadian mortgage industry as a director for one of our industry associations, as well as helping our mortgage business find great team members.


I’ve been a passionate member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization since 2020, a global organization of entrepreneurs who are constantly innovating and changing the status quo.

I am also a huge believer in supporting local community children’s charities, to create opportunities for our youth to uncover their full potential.

Driven by the belief that we miss 100% of the shots we don’t take, I’m continuing to chase my dreams and live a life of exponential growth.
